Save the date for spring events!

Several big events are coming up in the next few months at the Library and around Hillsboro, so mark your calendar now and save the date!

• Tuesday, April 16: Volunteers Grow Community in Hillsboro! Join City officials and volunteers from across Hillsboro for a presentation to the City Council about volunteering in Hillsboro. If you're curious about what happens at a City Council meeting or would like to help show community leaders all of the wonderful things volunteers do in Hillsboro, please come on down to the Civic Center! There will be a reception with hors d'oeuvres starting at 5pm, and the meeting begins at 7pm. More information and a formal invitation soon!

• April 26-May 5: Friends of the Library Big Book Sale. This is it: the last sale on the first floor! Come and shop during the sale, or join us beforehand to help set up (April 18-25).

• Saturday, June 1: City-Wide Volunteer Celebration and Open House at Jackson Bottom Wetlands. Bring the whole family to enjoy Jackson Bottom between 10am and 2pm, and meet and mingle with your fellow volunteers from all over Hillsboro. We'll have food, prizes, tours, and nature-themed activities for kids! Keep an eye out for an official invitation in April.

• Sunday, June 2: Main Library Second Floor Grand Opening. The Grand Opening celebration for the second floor is scheduled for the afternoon of the 2nd. We're planning music, snacks, and tours--you won't want to miss it!
