Just as construction season is wrapping up (at the Main Library, anyway), event season is beginning! July is a busy month for Library events and outreach. Here's what's coming up:
4th of July Parade. Looking for an excuse to dust off those American flag pants? Have a great candy-throwing arm? Join the Library for the annual Hillsboro 4th of July Parade, downtown. We're looking for about five marchers/candy throwers to accompany the bookmobile through the streets of town. It's Thursday, July 4, from about 9am-1pm.
Celebrate Hillsboro. We'll be taking the bookmobile out again on Saturday, July 20, for the Celebrate Hillsboro festival, downtown. We need three volunteers who like working with kids to help with the (in)famous prize wheel and give out Summer Reading information. There are three shifts: 8:30-11:30am, 11am-2:30pm, and 2-4:30pm.
Bajo Salario concert. If you're not too tired out from Celebrate Hillsboro, the Library will host a concert by Bajo Salario/Collective Band on July 20, at 3:30pm. Come and listen to their blend of Latin American music, or come a little early (2:30pm) to help get the program off the ground!
