Moves at Main: Young Adult materials and Adult Fiction

We are moving a whole lot of things around at Main this week to prepare for the revamp of the first-floor Entrance Hall. If you're a shelver, please pay very close attention. And everyone can get ready to find materials in new places!

This week and next, the YA (Young Adult) materials will be moving to their new, permanent, post-construction place, smack in the middle of where the Adult Fiction is now. To achieve this, we're shifting the Adult Fiction and Genre collections to free up three ranges of shelving. (This is temporary, since these collections will be moving upstairs when contruction is complete).

Here's what to look out for:

• YA new books, reference, and books on CD will be on the low shelf in the middle of the Genre section.
• YA fiction, magazines, games, and graphic novels will be shelved on three ranges of shelving in the middle of where Adult Fiction is now.
• YA DVDs and CDs will be interfiled with Adult DVDs and CDs. This change is permanent.
• Holiday CDs will no longer be shelved in the CD area, but in the Reader Services area in the staff-only part of the Library. Staff will retrieve those when patrons request them.

We know this arrangement will be a little confusing, but it's only for a few months. Shelvers, please continue to keep a close eye on spine labels, and if something doesn't match up or you can't find a section, please ask!
