Inclement weather reminder

Whether you're a winter fan or you prefer to hibernate until it's all over, the cold and icy season has arrived!

Rain, shine, or ice, we do our best to keep the Library open during regular hours. But if it isn't safe for staff to come to work, we will occasionally open late, close early, or close entirely.

So when the weather is nasty, here's what to do:

1. If you don't feel safe coming in, don't! But please call (503.615.3457) or email so we don't worry about you.

2. If you're concerned that the Library might be closed, check the website or call the City of Hillsboro employee closure line (503.306.0934). If we're closed/opening late/closing early, we'll also get that information out to local news outlets, so you can check your favorite news source as well.

3. If you usually come in early in the morning (i.e. 9am or earlier), please be aware that staff may need a little extra time to get to the Library, and there's a chance you'll beat us in. So take it slow and we'll see you when we all get here!
